Memorial Box Monday: Just Something Fun!

I really can't think of anything to write about for my Memorial Box Monday post, so I just decided to write about something fun we did as a family the other day!

So, we are going to the rodeo with our grandparents this weekend, and we have a western consignment store where we live. (Love consignment stores! A great way to save money and you can find some really good stuff!) So Mom wanted a pair of boots, and Dad already had some, Ana had my old red boots, and believe it or not Caleb has a soft pair! So we went to this store and Mom found this really neat pair, and Mom and Dad said Claire and I could get a pair of boots if we would pay $20 of our saved up allowance. We usually don't do things like this, so this was really fun to go to a store and pick out boots! So I found a really cute pair for only $50 and paid my $20 towards them, and Claire got a cute pair too! So that was just something fun we did as a family! Just something that we don't do very often, that we did the other day and it was fun! And we got a new pair of shoes, saved money! So that's my Memorial Box Monday story, but I don't really know how that related to that, but it's all I could think of! So we just did something fun as a family, and we thank the Lord that we do have enough money to do something like this occasionally!

This week we have been focusing on getting back to school. Monday morning we woke up... Mom sick. So we did our best, and she is feeling much better. Also we have been getting back to our activities (piano, dance...) We got signed up for Co-op (excited!). I am getting braces next week so prayers for that! It has not been the easiest week, but God has helped us through it. Getting back into a routine is not always easy! So thankful for little brothers who coo, and little sisters who keep life lively! Mom took us to a yummy bakery this week for lunch, so that was fun. Our baby sitter is the cook! It was yummy Lisa! The weather has been topsy, turvy, always changing. One day it is warm and sunny, the next our dog's water is frozen, and it's super windy. Today it is really nice out. Last night Mom, Caleb, and I went to a baby shower for someone at our church. It was really fun! And it was good to get out of the house with only Mom (and Caleb, but little baby brothers don't count cause they are cute!). Today Mom made yummy homemade potato soup for lunch. One thing I don't like about winter is that the sun slides to the west earlier than most of us would like. So I just gave you a totally random update! Have a blessed weekend!

Memorial Box Monday: Our Red Bird

Before we moved the latest time, we would have a little red bird visit us, all year through. It was very bright among our back woods, and was cheery to us some mornings. I have noticed that I miss the red bird, along with it's friend that would come tap on our windows. But the other day, actually the other 2 days, we saw a red bird. Bright among the few tree's we have here. It reminds me that God brings us little surprises, and brings us back to remember the small, but special details.
"Mom! Look, there is a red bird! Just like ours back where we used to live! I was thinking about that bird the other day!"
It reminds me of our huge tree's, and the little red bird, and it's friend that would come in the spring! The friend would tap at our windows, the red bird remind us of God's Majesty with it's hot red glow. And I was thinking about the bird, and guess what? God sent us another little red bird! I hope he will visit us again soon.

2012 Study

One year, four different seasons, four different topics, one bible, different translations, one truth, one true God, one goal.

Love ~ Winter

Joy ~ Spring

Faith ~ Summer

Obedience ~ Fall

David
David had great Love for his people, he would weep when his enemy's died, David had Joy, expressed by his dancing and writing of Psalms, David's Faith was not shaken when he fought against a giant, David obeyed the Lord, he had obedience, when the prophets told him the word God sent to David through them and he did his best to listen and obey.

The Goal
To study about these topics and put it to action in our lives.

I encourage you to do your own study with the Lord, discipline yourself to do that, journal about it, and put it to action in your own lives. Let's make 2012 a Godly year, the answer to doing that? Read your bible, and obey God!
